Job description

About Bolt

With over 200+ million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa, and it's all thanks to our people.

Everyone's welcome at Bolt, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

We're on a mission to make cities for people, not cars, and we need you to make it happen!

About the role

As an Operations Specialist you will have a direct and tangible impact on local operations in the Netherlands that you can see in real-time. This is a hybrid role, with the expectation to attend the office the majority of the time. If you're ready to take full ownership of your work, disrupt the marketplace, and shape movement patterns in the urban landscape, here's your chance!

You will work with teams across the company and at HQ on local projects, predominantly in two focus areas: Vehicles and Efficiency. You will report to the Operations Manager. At Bolt we make decisions with data and focus on outcomes, so you will own your targets, spot what is holding them back, and fix it.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Vehicles

  • Own the Car Branding programme: grow the number of branded cars, set driver bonuses, work with sticker garages, and keep costs in line with the return.

  • Own the Vehicle strategy and targets in the Netherlands, including the share of electric cars among active drivers. Track the numbers, explain what is driving them, and report in our weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews.

  • Launch and own new vehicle offers and a vehicle marketplace. Spot gaps in our electric vehicle offer, then design, propose, and run projects to close them. Work with car brands, charging and leasing partners, and fleet owners.

  • Keep up with Dutch rules on vehicles (such as emission zones, taxes, and taxi licences). Work with Legal to turn changes into clear actions for drivers and fleets.

Efficiency

  • Own the quality and speed of routine tasks done by our outside partners, such as checking driver, vehicle, and fleet documents and calling inactive drivers. Set targets, check results, and act when they slip.

  • Run quality checks on partners' work, keep training guides up to date, and escalate repeated problems with a clear record and a proposed fix.

  • Find repetitive manual tasks and automate them, using workflow tools and AI where it helps. Decide what to hand off or automate next, and measure the time saved.

For both areas

  • Use data (driver earnings, supply, conversion, partner quality) to find problems and opportunities without being asked. Turn them into proposals with a clear expected impact.

  • Prioritize by impact, take your proposals through to execution, and check afterwards whether they worked.

  • Write the monthly progress updates and keep project trackers current. Run regular tasks like the Weekly Business Review and manual driver and rider compensations, and automate the repeatable parts.

  • Work with Central Operations, Product, Marketing, Customer Support, and Legal.

  • Coach interns and junior team members and share their progress with management.

About you

  • You have 2-4 years of experience in Operations, Consulting, Startups, or other relevant organizations.

  • You are a self-starter. You don't wait for a task: you notice what is not working, make a proposal, and get it done.

  • You focus on results. You can name the numbers you moved and explain how.

  • Change to AI

  • You are a great collaborator with excellent negotiation and communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and Native Dutch.

  • You have the project-management discipline to scope, own and see initiatives through end to end, even across several concurrent workstreams.

  • You like removing repetitive work by automating it. No coding background is needed.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated to solve problems creatively and efficiently.

  • You are customer-oriented and will strive to strengthen the driver and rider value proposition.

Why You'll Love It Here:

  • Be part of a small team shaping the future of mobility in the Netherlands.

  • Hybrid work model with an amazing office in the A'DAM Tower, overlooking Amsterdam.

  • Work in fast-moving, autonomous teams with some of the brightest minds.

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.

  • Enjoy a competitive salary and stock option package.

  • Take care of your wellbeing with our physical and mental health perks.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don't tick every box, please consider applying if you feel you're the kind of person described above!
